5% of all profits will be donated to the Pollinator Partnership when you purchase a bar of Malachitehandmade soap! This batch has pollinator friendly camelina oil in place of sesame oil! Camelina oil is a pollinator friendly globally responsible crop that has a long agricultural history in Europe. Camelina is rich in Omega-3s and anti-oxidants like vitamin E. In its raw form it has a delicious nutty smell though it is undetectable in the finished soap product. *You can continue reading more about this pollinator friendly crop below!
Scented with a light citrus and woodsy essential oil blend of lime, patchouli, litsea and pepper black. I added lots of lime essential oil to this blend and a touch of patchouli to help ground it (did you know citrus essential oils fade away in cold process soaps if you don't pair them with stronger holding essential oils?). The gorgeous swirl in this soap bar was created by combining Japanese chlorella powder and activated charcoal, both which will help detox pores leaving skin feeling clean. This bar is very moisturizing and will produce big fluffy bubbles. Get clean and feel good about your purchase helping to "promote the health of pollinators, critical to food and ecosystems, through conservation, education, and research" in addition to supporting sustainable, pollinator friendly agriculture.

*Camelina provides early spring nectar for native pollinators and honeybees. I encourage you to stop by theWalker Family Farms websiteto read about their success with growing camelina on their ranch in South Dakota.
In 2019 the Walker family was selected and awarded aFarmer-Rancher Grantfrom the North Central Region of USDA's Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education program. The grant funded the 2020 growing season of winter camelina, to demonstrate its feasibility and contribution to sustainable farming in western South Dakota.A very special thank you to Dr. Jenny Walker for sharing her camelina oil and introducing me to this sustainable, pollinator friendly ingredient.
