This bar is very fragrant with strong notes of black currant, pink pepper, rhubarb, rose, violet, berries, jasmine, and patchouli. Lighter notes of amber, sandalwood, cedarwood, musk, and iris add complexity. I have added a lot of kokum and mango butter to this recipe.
Kokum butter comes from the fruit kernels of the Indian tree, indigenous to the Western Ghats region of India. It is non-pore clogging, rich in antioxidants and has been known to heal ulcers, fissures of the lips, hands and soles of your feet. Mango butter has moisturizing essential fatty acids that skin loves, and is rich in both vitamin C and A, promoting firmness and overall healthy skin.
Mango butter is a great butter to add to your skin care routine as it easily absorbs into the skin and helps treat dry, flaky patches. It also contributes to a very creamy lather. Expect a firmer bar with a creamy lather that rinses clean when washing with peony & amberwood handmade soap bar.
